Frankton Intersection Bus Hub Improvements

The Frankton Intersection Bus Hub Improvements project has been initiated to help with the congestion through the SH6 / SH6A / Frankton Road intersection, known locally as the BP roundabout, during peak traffic times. The roundabout will be replaced with a traffic lights junction, featuring new bus lanes and improved access for pedestrians and cyclists. The project will ultimately relieve the growing pressure on Queenstown’s state highway network.

Stewart Civil have been working alongside Wakatipu Transport Project Alliace (WTPA) as the preferred subcontractor for this project. We have a proven track record of delivering complex projects, and are excited to showcase our latest endeavour;

  • The installation of 700 meters of 1400mm diameter PE pipe, set at depths of up to 6 meters

  • Building multiple haul road in and out of site

  • Completing bulk earthworks up to 10,000m³ of cut to waste using our GPS 20t excavator

  • Installing small diameter water lines throughout for site water

  • Cutting a 2,200m² carpark to subgrade and installing subbase for future AC

  • Utilities install on Gray & Mcbride to underground the power network

 Stewart Civil take pride in delivering the activities highlighted above and our team continue to grow and gain experience in this fast paced working environment.
